It is my personal belief the biggest key to our own personal health and wellness in on our plates and forks. Food is a large part of our medicine.  Food can help us be well and it can help us be ill.  I feel food is a huge factor in disease or lack of it for many. Yes, we have all heard of the person who smokes five packs a day, drank like a fish, never exercised and ate whatever they wanted and lived to be 175 year old!   Ok, slight exaggeration but you know what I mean.  That is not the norm.

Ugh. Food. The one vice I have to deal with.   At points in my life I have smoked, drank and even did other ‘things’ that I should not have done.  The thing about all of those vices, I did not have to do them. It was my choice to do them.  I could make the decision to shut them down 100%. And I did.  Food, not so much.

The problem is if food is your vice you have to have some sort of ‘working relationship’ with it.  Then the choices, the studies, the options, what is in or not in our foods, there is so much information and contradiction about foods it is enough to make you want to run to the junk food of your choice and forget about ALL of it.  Been there , done that.

Add that to the fact I am the master of justification. I can justify anything to myself. I would be a billionaire if there was some way to make a living off of that skill.  What I have a very hard time doing is breaking my word to others.   So over the years the choices I have made and the promises I made to myself, I could ‘justify’ them away.

So now you know the back story and the challenges. I had been feeling stuck. So kind of out of nowhere this ball of positive energy enters my world. Her name is Debra Ann St. Hilaire.   She has developed a wellness and waistline management program called…Mend-A-Body! The first time I talked with Debra Ann she shared her wellness journey, the positive results and the fact she feels great.  All that AND a slimmer waistline!

The program deals with the food and nutrition side of things but it was the fact the program comes with coaches and support that are real people. People you can talk to on the phone when you need them or text when you are in a difficult spot.  A daily text or email is fine, web based resources are fine. All that is really good stuff. But sometimes it is about someone knowing you as a person, who can talk to you about what ever challenges you are facing in that moment!

The first time I talked with Debra Ann about all of these issues and her program she said “I am asking you to trust me. I know I have done nothing to deserve that, but I am asking you to trust me.”  So I am trusting Debra Ann. Oh and they have a 99% user rating of those who used and liked it at Diets In Review...99%!  at  I have started Mend-A-Body.  Let the adventure begin.
