It’s official! Rihanna will kick off the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards tomorrow night with her hit-making collaborators Calvin Harris and A$AP Rocky.

RiRi will open the evening with a rendition of ‘We Found Love,’ the lead single from her sixth studio album ‘Talk That Talk,’ along with Harris, who has also been tapped as the house DJ for the VMAs. In addition, fans and viewers will get to see a performance of ‘Cockiness (Love It)‘ in its new remixed form, featuring rapper A$AP Rocky. (Let’s hope there’s a five-second delay on this live broadcast.)

Rihanna is one of the biggest nominees of the night, so it’s no wonder why she was asked to kickstart the festivities. The 24-year-old is up for five VMAs, including Video of the Year, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video for ‘We Found Love,’ Best Choreography and Best Visual Effects for ‘Where Have You Been.’

Hosted by Kevin Hart (his promos are hilarious), the VMAs will also include performances by Nicki Minaj, Frank Ocean, Taylor Swift, Green Day, Pink, Alicia Keys and One Direction. The event will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 6 at 8PM ET on, naturally, MTV.
