[Spoiler alert...] In the season finale of Gilmore Girls, Rory Gilmore accepts a job to follow real-life presidential candidate Barack Obama out onto the campaign trail. It's nearly nine years later now, but it looks like Rory's ambitions came through, because the former small town girl from (fictional) Stars Hollow, CT is totally besties with Michelle Obama. Would you expect anything less from the Yale overachiever?

Worlds collide — both reality and fantasy — in a cute new video shared by the folks behind Netflix's highly-anticipated Gilmore Girls reboot. In an effort to both promote the forthcoming multi-episode streaming event, as well as the First Lady's "Let Girls Learn" initiative, Alexis Bledel (in character as Rory) stops by the White House to offer some "light" reading material for Michelle's upcoming international trip.

And oh, are there books to be read!

"I wasn’t sure about what mood you’d be in, so I brought all of Shakespeare, ‘cause you can’t go wrong with the Bard," Rory rambles excitedly as she brings in stacks and stacks of novels.

But wait! There's more!

"A little Proust. Sophie’s Choice — it doesn’t matter if you’ve seen the movie. Jane Austen... I mean, c’mon, Jane Austen," she quips. "And then there's Moby Dick, Anna Karenina, The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire — you know, some classic beach reads..."

However, a few dozen volumes of the world's greatest literature isn't the only gift the young Gilmore girl has in store for FLOTUS: As she reaches into her purse, she pulls out a box of Pop-Tarts — sent by her mom, Lorelai, naturally.
