Ruth Negga Wears ACLU Ribbon, Ravishes in Red at the 2017 Oscars
Ruth Negga walked the red carpet at the 2017 Academy Awards in a bright red custom Maison Valentino gown, and a meaningful statement accessory, too: A blue ACLU ribbon signaling solidarity with the American Civil Liberties Union.
The actress also wore a gorgeous, jeweled crownlike headband atop her updo.
Negga is nominated for Best Actress for playing Mildred in Loving. This is her first Academy Award nomination.
Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the 89th Annual Academy Awards ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, February 26, broadcast live on ABC beginning at 8:30 PM EST. The 2017 Academy Award nominees were announced on January 24.
