SCAM ALERT: Augusta PD Warns Of Email Extortion Scam

According to the Augusta Police Department Facebook Page, they were recently (Wednesday) contacted by a person who had received an email saying that they had been hired to kill the email's recipient.

The email went on to say that the recipient would need pay the sender if they did not want the sender to carry out the contract.

Police say anyone who receives an email like this should not respond and should report it to the FBI at www.ic3.gov
