A recent Instagram post by Selena Gomez has some fans upset and even unfollowing the 21-year-old singer.

Yesterday, Gomez posted on Instagram a photo with the message: "It's About Humanity. Pray for Gaza." With the photo, she wrote the following caption: "Please pray for those families and babies today. Please always remember what's important in life. It's not any of this. We are here to help, inspire and love. Be that change. #wearethenextgeneration"

Gomez's post is in reference to the conflict going on right now in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas, the Islamic terrorist organization. Earlier this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered attacks on the underground tunnels in Gaza that the Hamas have used to enter Israeli territory. According to CNN, the death toll in Gaza is over 300 and continues to rise, with many of the casualties civilians.

One fan wrote on Gomez's photo, "You lost your israeli fans .. U dont know what are we going through you cant judge . You just lost my respect to you."

Another fan wrote, "You don't even know what it's like to have terrorists attack your own country. So why speak up without knowing all the facts? Israel tries to avoid killing any civilians. We don't want any innocent people getting hurt. Why not pray for both sides?"

In a followup post on Instagram, Gomez writes, "And of course to be clear, I am not picking any sides. I am praying for peace and humanity for all!"

Earlier this week, Rihanna also landed in hot water after she tweeted "#FreePalenstine" which was then later deleted.
