Everyone has that one friend. That one friend who above all other friends is the most selfless. The one that regards everyone else higher than they regard themselves. Kelly Burns is that friend.

I've known Kelly for the better part of 15 years, and with that I've also known her heartache. Kelly lost her dad Bob Burns in 2006 to brain cancer.. And rather than sit around and be sad and mourn, she decided to do something about it- She decided to fight. For 2 consecutive years Kelly has hosted the 'Bob Burns Memorial 5k' at her home in Vassalboro to raise money for the National Brain Tumor Society. Has she been successful? Well, with only 2 events in the bag, she has managed to pull together more than $10,400 to donate to the cause. She made this video to tell her story, to spread awareness, and maybe, just maybe, catch national attention so that we can stomp out brain cancer for good. Imagine if we could fund this program enough to find a cure for ALL cancers.. Imagine the world without cancer, that's how Kelly sees it.. Perhaps my ol' pal @ellen can pick up the story?

Share the video, spread the word and spread awareness. Help support those around you that try so hard to do good for others. In a world filled with so much rough, Kelly Burns is truly a diamond.
