'Divergent,' one of the latest batch of dystopian young adult novels in development for the big screen just found its Jennifer Lawrence in actress Shailene Woodley, best known for her role in last year's 'The Descendants.'

Shailene Woodley is a busy young woman, and she's about to get busier: Variety reports that the actress is in talks to lead 'Divergent,' the film based on the planned trilogy of books by author Veronica Roth. Woodley would play the role of a sixteen year old girl named Beatrice, who lives in a dystopian (aren't they all) future society where the world is divided up into five areas, based on attributes: Candor (honesty), Abnegation (selflessness), Dauntless (bravery), Amity (peacefulness), and Erudite (intelligence). Obviously this is a world where only positive traits exist, but we'd like to know where they keep the big dumb jerks.

Beatrice is forced to decide which town she'll join, which leaves her torn between being true to herself and staying with her family and friends. Her decision is a shocking one and sends her on a crazy journey that will somehow take up three books and possibly three movies.

Woodley is currently set to star in the newest films from Gregg Araki and James Ponsoldt ('Smashed'), and she's in talks to join the cast of 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' as Mary Jane Watson. But hey, we're sure she can squeeze in a new film franchise and deal with all the comparisons to Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart.
