Donald Trump, who has been a polarizing force in the Republican presidential campaign, is set to return to NBC after the network dropped its affiliation with him for controversial comments he made regarding Mexican immigrants.

In a move that is clearly designed to draw huge ratings to the show, Trump is set to host NBC's "Saturday Night Live" on Nov. 7. But a Congressman from Illinois has called for NBC and its parent company, Comcast, to cancel Trump's hosting appearance.

On Oct. 20, Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-Illinois), wrote a letter to Brian Roberts, the CEO of Comcast and Stephen Burke, the President/CEO of NBCUniversal, asking them to "disinvite" Trump.

"Send a message that racism is not funny and that responsibility to your viewers and the public is more important that ratings," Gutiérrez said in the letter.

He also spoke out against the Trump appearance on the House floor.
