So that's why it's taking so long for Sky Ferreira to release an album.

The model-turned-singer was arrested Friday night along with her boyfriend, DIIV frontman Zachary Cole Smith, for drug possession and resisting arrest. Yikes! 'Everything Is Embarrassing' indeed.

The couple were detained on Friday night (Sept. 13) for doing just about everything imaginable wrong in a 1990 Ford pickup truck.

The Daily Freeman reports that Ferreira was charged with misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance (ecstasy) and resisting arrest.

Meanwhile, Smith faces a litany of misdemeanors: two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance (42 decks of heroin), one count of possession of stolen property and one count of aggravated unlicensed driving. Smith also faces violations of driving an unregistered motor vehicle, driving without insurance and "having an inadequate exhaust system."

The Daily Freeman reports that the pair were pulled over "after the driver made several vehicle and traffic infractions." Once there, "Police said a registration check showed the license plates on the truck were stolen and the driver, Smith, was wanted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding vehicle and traffic warrant."

Don't these kids know that if you're lugging contraband to make sure your vessel is in good order?

Ferreira previously commented on her association with drug culture, denying any addictions to Billboard. "Yeah, I do go out, but I'm not a drug addict by any means, because you can't do this [performing] if you're a drug addict. If I was a drug addict, there would already be a ton of s--- out there showing that I was a drug addict, you know? I would be behaving like one. I think it's partially who I hang out with, the way I look and the way I dress."
