Whatever the reason behind late-in-the-game Stranger Things mashups, we’re hard-pressed to deny some of the skill involved. Following Buffy and Charlie Brown combinations, Netflix’s surprise summer hit gets a magical Harry Potter mashup, as Eleven and her friends take a trip to Hogwarts.

Comedy Central UK provided the mashup du jour, splicing Stranger Things footage into the Harry Potter film series, and vice versa. More often than not the digital splicing actually proves quite clever, even if a few static shots leave characters in the frame past the point of looking natural.

Not to mention, the timeline of Stranger Things actually isn’t that far removed from Harry Potter, the former taking place in 1983, while Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone follows the boy who lived in his first year at school in 1991. The mashup draws from all seven Potter movies, but does what it can, continuity-wise.

In the meantime, Stranger Things Season 2 has officially started filming, leaving us until 2017 to see exactly how magical things get in the sequel series. In the meantime, check out the clip above.
