Subway's 2013 Super Bowl commercial has been 15 years in the making. That's when the restaurant chain's spokesman Jared Fogle began his now-famous "Subway Diet," which consisted of turkey subs and a lot of walking and led to a massive weight loss.

Subway started featuring Jared in their ads in 2000. Since then the chain's revenues have doubled. So they celebrated Jared's 15 years of being svelte in their 2013 Super Bowl spot.

In the commercial, many of the celebrities that have been associated with Subway over the years tell Jared's story like it is a script to a movie. Sports fan will recognize star athletes like Mike Trout, Apolo Ohno, Blake Griffin, Ryan Howard, Carl Edwards and Robert Griffin III.

Television fans will recognize Brian Baumgartner, who plays Kevin on 'The Office' and kicks off the commercial. Baumgartner isn't in nearly as good shape as the rest, and seems like an odd fit the ad for that reason.

Do you think Jared's story still inspires after 15 years?
