Both ‘American Idol’ and ‘The Voice’ are rolling now. To this point thanks to the cold weather, surgery and a DVR I’ve watched all of the episodes of both shows this season to date. Often asked in conversations about TV which show is better?

'American Idol' has its first openly gay contestant, and it is M.K. Nobilette, who revealed her sexual orientation to the judges before they advanced her to the Top 30.

High school sophomore Briston Maroney blew the judges away on 'American Idol' tonight (Jan. 29). They could not believe he was only in high school -- especially considering his soulful performance of 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' by the Rolling Stones.

Proud father Casey Thrasher came on 'American Idol' to make a better life for his family (including two babies, ages 2 years old and 6 months) after a series of dead end jobs. Much like his personal motto "believe," Thrasher chose to sing Brooks & Dunn's 'Believe.'

The very last audition on tonight's 'American Idol' (Jan. 22) was Miley Cyrus look-alike Marrialle Sellars, who sang Bruno Mars' 'Grenade.'

'American Idol' continued tonight (Jan. 16), and one of the standout performances was from Rachel Rolleri, a 17-year-old high school student who is a huge Keith Urban fan. For her performance, she sang 'Stay' by Sugarland, accompanying herself on guitar.

A standout on 'American Idol' tonight (Jan. 15) was 21-year-old handyman Keith London, who sang Katy Perry's 'Roar.'

After months of speculation, looks like the final judging seat on 'American Idol' has been filled -- by Harry Connick Jr.

The 'American Idol' revolving door and drama continues! A week after it was all but announced that Dr. Luke would take the third judging place at the table, he's backed out of the deal -- and may be replaced with a classic crooner. Singer, actor and southern gentleman Harry Connick, Jr. is rumored to be thisclose to inking a deal with 'Idol.'

The 'American Idol' panel is shaping up to be an interesting one! Dr. Luke has been confirmed as the third judge of the Fox ratings juggernaut.
