For over the past 12 years everyday pretty much I’ve taken the same route to work. Even longer if you count the year I commuted the opposite way from Augusta to Auburn. I think I know Route 202 like the back of my hand at least the stretch between Auburn and Augusta. There have been many changes in business along that road and new buildings built.
The Augusta Salvation Army is doing distribution this week and for the food baskets they need meat. They have been looking for hams and turkeys. The type of thing you would buy as the center piece of your holiday meal. Simply by stopping by the grocery store, picking up something fitting and dropping it off to them you can really help out.
The Augusta Community 'Warming Center' opened Sunday, Dec. 16. It will be available for those in need every day until March 31. Supported by the United Way of Kennebec Valley, the 'Warming Center' will be open from 9am to 4pm for those seeking a warm and safe escape from the cold.

Yet another drug store robbery in Augusta. Around 11:00 am Saturday, Nov. 17 a man with a painted face walked into the 'CVS Pharmacy' on Capitol Street and robbed the store of painkillers.
