According the the website Neighborhood Scout.com, Augusta is above the national average when it comes to both violent and property crime. Augusta's violent crime rate of 4.76 per 1,000 people is above the national average of 3.8 per 1,000. Augusta was also above average when it came to the property crime rate. Augusta property crime rate of 61.32 per 1,000, while the national average is 26 per 1,000.
