Part of the fun comic book fans have had over the years is debating which superhero could defeat which superhero. Could Wolverine beat The Hulk? Could the X-Men beat The Avengers? There have been entire lines of books devoted to this very topic. Heck, Batman vs. Superman and Captain America: Civil War are both based on this very conceit. So, you can’t blame Matt Damon for getting into the fun when asked if his Jason Bourne, who he calls “my superhero”, could take his pal Ben Affleck’s Batman. As you might expect, Damon’s not stepping down from the challenge.

When Warner Bros. announced their upcoming superhero schedule last year, one title notably missing was a solo Batman movie. Sure, Batman was going to be a big part of both Batman vs. Superman and the two Justice League movies, but would Batfleck be getting his own trilogy, a la The Dark Knight? It turns out, yes, yes he will. Latino Review is reporting that Ben Affleck will both star in and direct the spinoff, titled The Batman, which is set for November 2018.

We’ve been hearing a lot of rumors about David Ayer’s Suicide Squad over the last week or so, specifically pertaining to the Joker, which will reportedly be based on Frank Miller’s version of the iconic villain in The Dark Knight Returns. The last report only hinted at how Ben Affleck’s Batman might appear in the film, and today’s rumor expands on that a bit, shedding more light on the caped crusader’s role and how he’s viewed in this particular section of the DCU.

I'm going to be real with you, folks: even though we're looking down the barrel of 38 superhero movies over the next few years, the one that I'm looking forward to the most is easily Lego Batman, starring Will Arnett as the Caped and Blocky Crusader. A few weeks back, we heard that Ryan Gosling went in to meet about a possible role in WB's 'Suicide Squad' film, but it wasn't clear which role that might have been, as details about which characters might be featured in the movie are still a mystery. According to the latest report, Jared Leto is now up for that role -- and that role could very well be The Joker, Batman's longtime nemesis.

Comic book fans surely remember the '90s. It was a strange time to be a superhero fan. A dark time. A time when Joel Schumacher was directing Batman movies and baffling the entire world. A decade before Christopher Nolan made 'Batman Begins,' Schumacher made 'Batman Forever,' which featured Jim Carrey as The Riddler and Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face. We've been deservedly hard on FOX's laughable 'Gotham' in its inaugural three episodes, but with ratings across the board proving notably strong, the network has officially decided to make the best of a Bat-situation. Despite the show's own stars touting the virtue of a 16-episode order, the Batman prequel drama has officially been extended to a full 22 episodes for its first run.

Though New York Comic Con 2014 kicked off this past Thursday, October 9, the high-profile panels and festivities bring out more intense fans, and that means more cosplayers.
