Boston Red Sox

The regular season finale for the Boston Red Sox was almost secondary yesterday (They lost to Toronto, 2-1) because the day was all about David Ortiz. It was Big Papi's regular season finale at Fenway Park.

The finishing touches are being put on Fenway Park for the last home stand of David Ortiz. The Sox have clenched the AL East and will spend the weekend honoring Big Papi during the last few games of the regular season against the Toronto Blue Jays...

It just might have been the wildest and whackiest win for the Red Sox all year. A 10-inning 3-2 victory over Tampa Bay to extend the winning streak to 11 straight games and reducing the magic number to clinch down to two.

David Ortiz is having a great farewell season as the Red Sox battle for a playoff birth. Big Papi has been getting special ceremonies and gifts from many major league baseball teams during his final season. Fans all across the country have been showing their respect for David Ortiz, but then there are Yankee fans.

The Boston Red Sox on August 23rd are tied for first place in the American League East, thanks in no small part to rookie outfielder Andrew Benintendi. The rookie just hit his first home run earlier in the week and in last nights game versus Tampa Bay, he might just have made the catch of the year!

The Boston Red Sox last night (Aug. 9) canceled their David Ortiz bobblehead promotion. Red Sox team president Sam Kennedy told the AP, the figurine turned out to be "racially insensitive."

The Boston Red Sox started the season red hot, but the June swoon is in full swing and the sounds of removing manager John Farrell are growing louder. Boston is 9-15 in June and the pitching staff has an ERA over 5 in June.

One of the most famous season-ticket holders of the Boston Red Sox is grumbling about the new safety netting at Fenway Park. The netting is meant to protect fans from foul balls and flying bats.

Happy 'Opening Day' for the Boston Red Sox... I just had to play "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" today on the Moose Morning Show. The Dr. John version, which was featured on Ken Burns' fabulous baseball documentary, is my favorite version.
