For many dog lovers, getting a memorial tattoo in honor of your departed friend or even just some ink to show how rad you think Spud MacKenzie is makes perfect sense, especially if you're new to the world of piercings and tattoos.

If there's one thing we know about dogs, it's that they love attention. In our experience, pupsters are full-on hams when it comes to getting in front of the camera, and truthfully, we wouldn't have it any other way. Remember those ridiculously cute Halloween costumes? We rest our case.

The holidays might be over, but there are still tons of reasons to be happy. For starters, dogs with eyebrows are now a thing, and we couldn't be more stoked. Plus, there's really nothing fun about sporting a scowl, so we like to keep things positive and fun.

Holy cow, it's a dog that can drive! Sort of. Granted, we've seen dogs driving actual cars before, but this one is an enormous dog in a tiny Power Wheels. Plus he has no idea how to steer. Pugs are some of the funniest pups around. For starters, they have a knack for eating peanut butter and dressing up like Avengers. The bulging eyes, heavy breathing, tongue hanging out-- they can't help but look hilariously adorable no matter what the situation.

This is Charles the lion dog. He does look pretty lion-y. It must be even more astounding in person, because one Norfolk, Virginia, resident saw him on the street and called the police, saying there was a lion on the loose and it was potentially looking for food.

One of the best things about our pets (and animals in general) is that they have zero insight as to how cute and hilarious they actually are. They're adorably compliant too, like when we feel like dressing up cats in couture clothes or puppies in 'Star Wars' costumes. It's just what embarrassing pet owners do. We're huge suckers for anything involving puppies, like skateboarding Santa dogs or Star Wars pups. (Come on-- how could you not be?!) We're equally obsessed with anything in miniature form. So what happens when the two are combined? Holy moly cuteness, that's what!

ShadowDog is sporting his new tags for the year.  He has the new rabies and the City of Augusta dog registration tags.  I must admit, I have not always been so diligent about registering dogs in the past, but years ago someone from the Kennebec Valley Humane Society explained to me the reason it is SO important.
