Governor and Mrs. LePage want to say ‘Thank you’ to everyone who helped out this year with the governor’s annual food drive. Maine's first family says the food drive in which donors dropped off non-perishables at the Blaine House brought in about 1,568 pounds of food for Maine families.

Today was a day of giving to the food banks for many who strolled through The Maine Mall. Right in front of Sports Authority and The Gap, Good Shepherd Food Bank was collecting non-perishables and cash donations for the holiday season and beyond.

Food Drives in Central Maine Make a Big Difference

This is such an important week for those in need. All this week, until Friday mid-morning, there is a giant food drive going on in central Maine from our Townsquare Media sister station. There will be a tent set up next to the tank on the hill at Camp Keyes in Augusta. And if you are out doing some grocery shopping and you see the Maine Army National Guard at your local store with a truck, they are there accepting donations of non-perishable food items and cash.
