Wednesday at 1pm in room 436 of the Maine State House, the bill to allow concealed carry of a handgun in Maine, without a permit, will have a public hearing. Senator Katz talked with us about that this morning and gave us a couple of updates as well.

Our weekly Koffee with (Senator Roger) Katz chat focused mostly on a couple of things. The seatbelt law being repealed and the constitutional carry bill (which would allow Mainer's legally allowed to own a gun to carry without a permit). What does the senator think? Find out!

A Maine senator wants to allow residents to carry concealed handguns without getting a permit. Sen. Eric Brakey of Auburn says that nearly 100 lawmakers, including members of both parties, have signed onto his proposal.

It's no secret that I like guns and this video took my love of firearms and my love of music and merged the two into something kind of fun! Thanks to my sis-in-law, Pam Turgeon, who knows what I like and posted this on my Facebook wall!

If you're a Mainer, chances are you love the outdoors and hunting or fishing or trapping or all of the above! This weekend is the time for you to visit the Augusta Civic Center and satisfy your appetite for all things "outdoors." This year, there's something new, too. Something that, I think, is PERFECT for the times we're living in....

Officers in every other branch of natural resources law enforcement in Maine are trained annually and armed. They carry to protect themselves, and others as they go about enforcing Maine's laws. Forest Rangers enforce Maine's laws too, and even though their jurisdiction is the state's timberland, they're often investigating serious crimes such as theft and arson.

Whenever I need a nut, bolt, ammunition, fishing pole, fresh hamburger or a wedding dress, I ask myself, "I wonder if Hussey's would have that?" More often than not, the answer is, probably!

Even as their jobs have taken on the role of law enforcement in Maine's most remote locations, the state's forest rangers don't carry guns or even wear bullet-proof vests. This issue is finally being addressed. Listen to Representative (and retired State Trooper) Tim Marks and Representative Catherine Nadeau as they speak to this issue on the Moose Morning Show.

Celebs have their own lines of everything from scents to clothes to cosmetics. No other reality celebrities have had their own line of guns until now. And the fad won't stop with Duck Dynasty! Listen.....

I'm beside myself. Not only did the first shirt from American Women who Bear Arms, LLC, go to a young Maine woman who's a shooting enthusiast, it went to the daughter of a long time friend who just happened to be listening this morning!

One thing about shooting a gun is, the only age limits are being old enough to respect a gun and what it can do. If you're of sound mind, you're NEVER too old!
