The collective groan heard across the planet as Game of Thrones confirmed a delay for Season 7 should have tipped us off to the size of its audience, but weeks after the Season 6 finale, we have some harder numbers. The HBO drama has officially surpassed 25 million viewers, thanks in part to streaming platforms like HBO GO and HBO NOW.

Game of Thrones can be hard enough for fans to keep keep straight, but if ever six seasons of un-pronouncable names and changing alliances should stick, it’d be Samuel L. Jackson recapping the realm. Yes, it seems Jackson hates the Lannisters about as much as he hates Foggy Nelson, recapping the entirety of Game of Thrones in a new video.

With dozens upon dozens of main characters, complex intersecting plots, and a detailed off-screen history, there’s no denying that ‘Game of Thrones’ can be a difficult show to follow. Even as a diehard fan I often refer to Wikipedia pages and read recaps to keep up with the events of the show. But is it actually that hard to understand? Can a total ‘Thrones’ newbie jump into the show six seasons in and figure out what’s happening?

We’re All Criminals Now: Sharing Netflix and HBO Go Passwords Is a Federal Crime
Chances are, you or someone you know either shares their Netflix and HBO Go passwords or benefits from using someone else’s account. It’s such a common occurrence that, when asked about it, even the CEO of HBO was like, “No big deal,” then he tipped his shades and sent out a memo with a shrug emoticon — okay, I made that last part up, but if even that guy doesn’t care, then what’s the problem? Oh, just a little something called Federal Law.

‘Game of Thrones’ lit a wildfire under “The Winds of Winter” finale but did our Season 6 end spend more time setting up the endgame than making its big twists worthwhile? And should we consider the mother of all Jon Snow fan-theories confirmed? Find out in our full review!

Report: Brexit Might Seriously Impact ‘Game of Thrones’ Final Seasons
Most Game of Thrones viewers could explain the politics of Westeros with more familiarity than their own country, but this week’s historic and controversial Brexit vote might just bridge the gap in an alarming way. Pulling Northern Ireland out of the European Union might have a detrimental effect on the final two Game of Thrones seasons, one of many productions affected by the move.

Matthew McConaughey Talked With ‘True Detective’ Boss About Season 3 Return
HBO’s drama problem seems only to increase as 2016 rolls on, a slump that last year dragged True Detective from top-tier to bottom-shelf to cold storage. Matthew McConaughey might just be up for a cold one, however, claiming to have talked with creator Nic Pizzolatto about returning Rustin Cohle for True Detective Season 3.

Now that we’ve all swept up our jaws from the floor after Sunday’s “Battle of the Bastards,” Game of Thrones is already gearing up for its sixth season finale. “The Winds of Winter” are rising, even if Kings’ Landing seems anything but cold, with Cersei’s fiery trial and more looming in the first trailer.

True Detective anticipation evaporated practically overnight with the release of Season 2, and nearly one year removed from its finale, HBO is increasingly less keen on re-lighting that e-cigarette. Following a network changing of the guard, creator Nic Pizzolatto is even less likely to develop any True Detective Season 3, instead focusing on other projects.

New HBO NOW Releases: June 2016
Game of Thrones Season 6 comes to an end in June (so soon!), but luckily HBO NOW has plenty of viewing options to help keep you occupied during your annual mourning period. Next month brings the premiere of HBO’s new weekly series Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons, hosted by the renowned sports analyst, author and ESPN vet. Cinephiles, meanwhile, will be thrilled to see the addition of Ridley Scott’s The Martian and (maybe) David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars. But more importantly, the epic Problem Child trilogy is coming to HBO NOW in June, giving you a chance to engage in a fierce familial debate over the finer points of Junior’s schemes — surely a more contentious topic than the resurrection of Jon Snow.

LOST co-creator Damon Lindelof famously departed Twitter amid a never-ending stream of criticism for the ABC mystery’s finale (and perhaps not coincidentally, ahead of HBO’s The Leftovers premiere). The impending third and final run of the HBO rapture drama will inevitably draw comparison, though Lindelof breaks his usual silence to explain a purposefully-vague Leftovers ending, differentiating it from LOST.

HBO Says Jon Stewart Might Return to TV Before 2016 Elections
Lord knows we’ve missed the genius of Jon Stewart’s late-night voice in these troubled times, and it’s been some time since HBO signed the former Daily Show host to a four-year development deal. We wouldn’t expect Stewart to suit up again behind a desk just yet, but HBO now believes the late-night veteran will return to active TV duty just in time for the 2016 election.
