Well, it was tedious but I saw some great people, cracked a few jokes and did my duty as a US citizen. But after only a day of being part of a juror pool, I was cut before I tried my first case. A co-juror suggested it might be because of the poem I wrote this morning
Mainers who are 70 and older would be allowed to opt out of jury duty if a bill before the Maine lawmakers gets the OK. The Judiciary Committee learned that health issues make it difficult for a lot of older people to serve.
