If you use the Maine Turnpike at all, you might now make the time to get an E-ZPass. I know it sound so unnecessary if you don’t use the Maine Turnpike all that frequently, but if you are like me, LAZY, you need one.
In West Gardiner is now $1.75. I remember the good ol’ days when it was only half a dollar! Tolls for cars went up to $3 at the toll plaza in York, to $2.25 in New Gloucester. Tolls will also go up from $1 to $1.50 at the northbound entrance in Wells and the southbound entrance in Gray. If you use an E-ZPass the cost is up on average by 1 cent per mile. If you drive the Maine Turnpike Augusta to York is has gone from $5 to $7.
On November 1st the Maine Turnpike Authority will be upping their tolls. Today is however, Boycott Maine Turnpike Day.
