September! It is almost fall in New England. Maine conservation officials say they're expecting a vibrant fall foliage season. So it is time for the weekly fall foliage report. The reports will start on Sept. 10 and run through Oct. 25. So, what to expect…officials say that conditions in northern Maine meant that residents and visitors will likely see subtle color changes and low leaf drop.
The Monmouth Police Department yesterday (Aug. 29) responded to a car accident in front of Phil's Variety in North Monmouth on Route 202. An unknown black pickup truck was involved in the accident and fled the scene, heading towards Leeds.

Vandalism has hit Monmouth. According to the Monmouth Police Department, the town was the victim of a second vandalism incident that occurred at the center town beach. Vandals tipped over the port-a-potties and broke off a newly installed hand rail for handicapped access to the lake.
I've lived in the capital area my entire life and I've never seen the dome on the Capitol building anything but baby-puke green! This is the color it is suppose to be...the color God intended copper to be. It's just that the elements wreak havoc on the metal and, after a while, it gets snot green again (sorry about the verbiage, but you have to admit, while not very pleasant, it IS descriptive).
