Messalonskee High School Class of 2019 is hosting their Junior Auction April 7 at Thomas College.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine recently launched its newest mentoring program in the Oakland school system, pairing students from Messalonskee High School with youth facing adversity in its neighboring elementary schools.

Investigators are blaming a mechanical problem for the Halloween-themed hayride crash Saturday night (Oct. 11) in Mechanic Falls that killed 17-year-old Cassidy Charette of Oakland and injured many others. The state fire marshal’s office says investigators are trying to figure out exactly why the Jeep towing the hay wagon wouldn’t or couldn’t stop, going down a hill in the woods and struck a tree.

There is going to be an Evening of Bluegrass on May 4th at the Messalonskee Performing Arts Center. Good music for a good cause. It is to benefit the Messalonskee Music Program.
