Plans are underway for the 6th Annual Homeless Veterans Benefit Concert. Legendary Maine country artist Debbie Myers began the event years ago by recruiting other musicians to perform a benefit for homeless veterans in Maine. This year's show will be bigger than ever. It's on September 20, at the Augusta Civic Center. It's a full day of fun and great music from 12 noon until 11:30 pm.

As of Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, reports are at least 2,045 members of the U.S. military have died in Afghanistan as a result of the U.S. led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. The Associated Press has also been keeping count and their numbers are two less than the Defense Department's totals.
