Sandy Hook Elementary School

It has been  a year since the Sandy Hook School Shooting. It was December 14th to be exact. I find it hard to believe that with this anniversary on our doorstep there is so little in the news about this tragic event.  There have been some changes in Newtown Connecticut and in the debate of gun issues in our nation.

With a new school year underway, it's a good time to remember the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut that rattled the country last December.

I'm still kind of at a loss for words over the sadness and loss from the school shooting in Newtown, CT. I cry for the parents with children ripped from their lives just before the happiest day of the year for most kids, Christmas. I find it hard to watch the news but can't seem to stay away from the coverage.

Just called home to see how the kids were doing, apparently they’re fine or at least on the surface seem okay. As a parent, we assume that it won’t happen here in our town, in our school.
