I love looking at old snowmobiles. I've traveled to Millinocket to visit the museum before. That's a long ride to see old sleds. Thankfully, it's just a hop, skip and a jump to China to see them tomorrow (Sunday). For me, it's barely a hop!

Today, January 5th (First Monday in January) is 'National Thank God it's Monday Day'.  Most people don't wish for Monday but in today's case, it can be true as today all the kids go back to school after Christmas/Winter break.

Cole Alberti and Caitlin Paul are actors. They are both students at Gardiner Regional Middle School. Brie is a senior at Gardiner High School and she is the student director. She clearly has a knack for leadership. Even in our short interview this morning, her ability to nurture and lead seemed apparent to me.

Today, September 30th, is 'National Chewing Gum Day.' Why? That's because it is William Wrigley's birthday. If he were alive today, he'd be 153 years old, being born in 1861.

The Augusta school board will be holding a special meeting tonight (Sept. 25) at 6:30 p.m. at the Capital Area Technical Center. The public is invited to discuss the elimination of crossing guards.

This is why I dread the first day of school...I get homework. Just a ton of paperwork that has to be filled out and according to my daughter, "has to be back tomorrow!"

Many 18 and 19 year olds are going off to college for the first time this week. Being in college can be a little stressful when it comes to finances and getting some of the add-ons one would need to have things run a bit more smoothly. So I've attached a link to help you get by on a shoestring.

Friend of the Moose Morning Show, Mommy Blogger and video star Deva Dalporto has released a brand new video. This time it's an original. A song we can all relate to as the kids get set to head back to school.

So, I showed up Friday at around noon in the doorway of Pittston School with a fistful of Flat Stanleys. Once inside, I was taken to the cafeteria where I thanked the kids for giving us (at 92 Moose) the opportunity to take Flat Stanley on adventures EVERYWHERE! Every child in the school made a Flat Stanley (storybook character) and sent them to me. See, I had lost the first one that a youngster h

Mrs. Damon from Pittston School, who is not only a great teacher but also a dear friend, entrusted me with one of her student's Flat Stanleys. I was to take the storybook character (who was flattened by a bulletin board, thus could go almost anywhere) on great adventures with me and capture the moments in photographs. I was delighted!

Back to work today, the hardest part about coming back to work is getting caught up, reoriented and back in gear. Off the top I want to thank Matt James, Mac Dickson, Andy and whoever else picked my detail while I was away.

It's always fun watching the talented kids sing and perform at the school chorus and band concerts. Last night (May 21) my daughter Alexis and other children from the Monmouth Middle School had their annual Spring Concert. One of the song's featured was 'Let it Go' from Disney's 'Frozen!'

This Saturday at Park Avenue Elementary in Auburn, it’s their annual May Fair. It is what it sounds like, a school fair in May. There will be all kinds of games, food and fun for the kids and parents alike. There is also a silent auction with some really cool items to bid on and hopefully win.
