In honor of the newcomers in ‘The Florida Project,’ we’re celebrating the best non-professional movie performances, from ‘American Honey’ to ‘City of God.’
Who would you rather fight, a million spider-sized ape or one ape-sized spider? It’s a question that’s been haunting my mind since, oh, about an hour ago when I started to look up the box office numbers for this past weekend. And while I might not be any closer to solving my riddle, I can at least say this: when it comes to week-old spiders versus brand new primates, the primates are destined to win. Sony knows that it’s summertime and in the summer traffic can be bad. So bad, even, that you might be running late to the movie theater and miss the first few minutes of Spider-Man: Homecoming this weekend. I personally have a rule that if I miss more than the first few minutes of a movie, I skip the whole thing for another showing. So in case you’re worried about missing the beginning of Homecoming because some jerk decided to hit the emergency break on the subway, have no fear. Sony just released the first four minutes of their new Spidey outing.
In this hilarious new video promoting ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ New Yorkers were greeted (and kind of terrified) by the Friendly Neighborhood Web-Slinger.
The calendar may have four seasons, but Hollywood’s calendar only really has two at this point: summer and awards, and summer seems to last longer and longer ever year. Though the start of May has long been the unofficial kickoff of the S.M.S., 2017 has already seen a King Kong movie, a ghost in a shell, and the fate of Fast & Furious franchise. After failing to capture audiences with their last Spider-Man reboot, Sony found a surefire way to win us back by teaming up with Marvel. Thanks to that deal, not only do we get to see Tom Holland’s Peter Parker swing over to the MCU to play with the Avengers, we also get to Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark pal around with everyone’s favorite high school hero in this summer’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. And, as teased at the end of Civil War, being friends with a billionaire inventor / superhero has some serious benefits, like a free super-suit upgrade.

Marvel and Sony have been a bit secretive about a few of the characters in Spider-Man: Homecoming — particularly the one played by Disney Channel star Zendaya, who is simply credited as “Michelle.” But according to a new report, Zendaya’s role is no longer a secret, as the true identity of her mysterious character in the reboot has been revealed.
