When I was a kid, ABC used to run Disney movies on Sunday nights.  Hosted by Disney CEO Michael Eisner, they ran a mix of Disney classics, Disney original movies (like Flight of the Navigator), and other classic family friendly movies.

My favorite of those movies ran in January of 1988.  It was called "Earth Star Voyager" and was about a bunch of teens manning a spacecraft on a decades long mission to find a new planet for humans to move to (in the movie, we'd wrecked the environment on Earth).  Right after they leave Earth, the only adult in charge gets killed, leaving the teens and young adults to continue the mission.

When I found it on Youtube, I started re-watching it.  It is...  Well, it's not as good as I remember it and you can definitely tell it was made in the 80s!  Still a pretty entertaining movie that really took me back to when I was a kid.

Here is the entire movie:

Apparently, the producers were using the movie as a pilot that they hoped they'd be able to spin into a series.  Clearly, that didn't happen.
