Get this…those fancy hand-free features in your car; they might not be as safe as you think they are. Two studies seem to indicate just because you have the ability to make hands-free call or whatever; it may not be safe to do it. I guess, if you are in your car and on the roadway you still have to put driving first.

The research conducted by the University of Utah and sponsored by AAA shows drivers can still be distracted when using voice-controlled features. One of the studies found using a phone's hands-free, eyes-free features to send and receive texts or post to social media was distracting to the driver. The lead author adds: “We need to be smart about how we use this technology. Just because it’s there doesn’t mean we should use it. In some situations, it can be sufficiently distracting that it can impair road safety.”

So please, eyes and mind on the road and hands on the wheel. Thanks!
