We thought the boys were distracted enough so Lynn and I went on-line to look at and consider the "wow" gift for Christmas for the kids.  I guess it's probably more of a family gift. Anyway, we're getting a kitten. I can talk about it because the cat is out of the bag, literally. Surfing all of the local Humane Society websites, including The Great Androscoggin Humane Society and Kennebec Valley Humane Society. Obviously, we don't which kitty will be available when the time comes to pick him or her out but so far, the boys like Izzy out of the Augusta shelter the best.

It has been almost 20 years since I've owned a cat. I need help on brands or types of litter. The kind that doesn't dust up, but does clump and contain odor, etc. Advice on food as well, like which is better, dry versus wet food, diet, etc. That would helpful. Back in the early to mid 90s it was all about buying food with low ash; just wanting tips from cat owners. We want a kitten so the kids can rename him or her and so the cat can have the longest possible lifespan with us. Not even sure if that's the right thing to say? That's the deal for now, meow!
