The Federal Shutdown is going to delay federal income tax refunds the IRS says by a week or two. The delay is so programmers can make the updates the agency’s computers. This will affect early filers who are hoping to get their money sooner. Of course the April 15th deadline remains for people who owe.

The IRS will start processing W2s and the rest of filers returns on January 21st. The IRS says they are trying shorten the delay and will give more information in December.
