The price of gas had a fairly hefty jump in price this week and now I see the average cost of home heating oil is up too. Maine energy officials say the average cash price for heating oil is up 2 cents to $3.76 a gallon.

The weekly survey from the Maine energy office also showed the average kerosene price was up 10 cents to $4.24 per gallon and propane prices were down 1 cent to $2.71 per gallon.

Back to gas prices, the average cost of a gallon of gas in Maine has jumped nearly 14 cents in just the past week to $3.70 a gallon. That price is 16 cents a gallon higher than a month ago and 11 cents higher than a year ago. All this make me long for warmer weather even more. It will not cost a fortune to heat my house and I can get my scooter out and go back to a gallon of gas lasting me for weeks!
