Augusta Police day four people were in custody after gunshots in the Walmart parking lot last night.  No one was hurt.  All four knew each other and according to the APD Facebook page no one was injured.

Gardiner is not going to profit from selling guns the city has taken from criminals. According to WGME, the councilors decided not to accept almost $13,000 from the AG’s office.

The Skowhegan Drive is open and with its new digital equipment.  According to centralmaine.com the 62 year old drive in needed the update to be able to show movies digitally produced.

According to the Associated Press, Maine State Police put together a study group to review the 32 motorcycle deaths that happened in the state in 2015. They found 74 percent of the crashes happened during daylight hours and 73 percent involved excessive speed, alcohol use was confirmed or suspected in 74 percent of the crashes. The operator was not wearing a helmet in 74 percent. A little less than half of the crashes did not involve other vehicles. (AP)

Maine officials will meet with the public to discuss a planned timber harvesting project this summer in Jamies Pond Wildlife Management Area in Hallowell, Farmingdale and Manchester.  Several people have expressed concerns about the project to elected officials. According to the KJ, The meeting is slated for June 29 in Hallowell. (AP)

Britain's Treasury chief is trying to calm nerves in the markets, as investors worry about the consequences of Britain leaving the European Union. He tried to reassure markets shaken by the result, saying "our economy is about as strong as it could be to face this challenge." (AP)

Japanese and Chinese stocks are up Monday, but other Asian markets are down. And in premarket trading, the Dow and the S&P 500 are down 0.5 percent. World markets plummeted Friday following last week's surprise outcome of Britain's referendum, in which voters decided they want their nation to leave the European Union. (AP)

Firefighters are advancing on a wildfire in central California that's claimed two lives and destroyed 200 homes. Some 2,000 firefighters have been battling the 68-square-mile blaze they say is now 40 percent contained. (AP)
