On June 12th 2018, Just a few days after being told that he had pneumonia, 24 year old Joe Curtis was found unresponsive. Sam, his wife, had to perform CPR to revive him.

At the hospital,  they quickly discovered large amounts of fluid surrounding his heart as well as his lungs. Joe had to have a chest tube put in to drain the fluid. He then spent several days in the ICU at Maine Medical Center in Portland.  According to doctors, he was suffering from a viral infection.

Though he is now out of the hospital, Joe will require ongoing follow up care as well as medication to bring down the inflammation surrounding his heart. This medication is not covered by insurance and cost $300 per week.  Additionally, Joe will be out of work for the time being.

As a result, the Curtis family needs your help.
