This Magical Garden Is Only A Short Drive From Central Maine

Looking for a weekend road trip?  How about this amazing garden in Northeast Harbor?

According to Only In Your State, the Asticou Azalea Garden was built by Charles K. Savage in 1956.  Obtaining many of the first plants from a Bar Harbor resident who was dismantling her estate, Savage modeled the garden after a Japanese Stroll Garden.

As it is so different from the rest of Mount Dessert Island, many visitors feel as though they have entered a whole new world.
