This is good news. The jobless rate has once again fallen in Maine. In December, the unemployment rate was at 6.2%, down one percent from the same time in 2012. It was also down a tenth of a percent from November 2013.

These are the best figures in five years. So the question is, "Are you doing the same or are you better off when it comes to employment than you were back in 2009?"

Maine does beat the national average, which is at 6.7%. This is a good sign that people are retaining jobs and finding work.

According to the Governor’s office, the population-to-employment rate is at 61.2%.  Small improvements are better than the alternative.
