Here Are Some Great Spa Tips

What is Reflexology? (Connie)

Specific areas are pressure pointed on the feet or hands that correspond to different parts of the body. This creates a physiological change in the body by naturally increasing your circulation which reduces your body tension. You will feel relaxed & refreshed at the end of your session. A session usually lasts for one hour. Half hour sessions are also available.

A Self Help Tip:

Place a tennis ball or golf ball on the floor and rub your foot over it using the amount of pressure that you are comfortable with. Try this for 5 to 10 minutes each foot. You have just given yourself a mini reflexology session!

What are some the benefits of Massage Therapy? (Sarah)

A massage works in wonderful ways, easing stress and pain, calming the nervous system, increasing circulation, loosening tight muscles, stimulating internal organs, and enhancing skin.

How long the positive effects of your massage last depends on the state of your body. If you’re suffering from chronic pain or recovering from injury, you may find it takes a few sessions before optimal health is restored.

If massage is part of your regular health regimen, then it’s more likely the effects will endure. In other words, the effects of massage are cumulative. The more often you get a massage, the greater and longer-lasting the benefits.

What can you do at home to make your massage last? Exercise. Ask Sarah for stretches you can do at home to help chronically tightened muscles. Drink water & stay hydrated.

Eyelash Extensions (Hiedi):

If your are interested in Eyelash extensions but you’re not sure they are for you? Schedule a free consultation! You will sit down with Hiedi, certified Novalash Eyelash Extensionist, and she will answer all your questions. If you are nervous about being sensitive to the product Hiedi will apply a few extensions to each eye so you can try them and be sure they are comfortable for you.

If you want to give your eyes a pop without the maintenance of Eyelash Extensions then try Lash Tinting. This is when a vegetable based dye is safely applied to your natural lashes. Even though tinting doesn’t give you additional length or volume to your natural lashes like extensions do, tinting is still a beautiful way to enhance your eyes.

Nail Health (Nancy):

How do I remove Shellac safely at home?

Using 100% acetone or CND’s Nourishing Polish Remover on a cotton ball, hold on top of your nail. Then using Tin Foil and wrap around your finger with the cotton ball to hold the cotton ball in place. Wait for Ten minutes. You then remove the tin foil and cotton ball and should see the shellac flaking off. Using an orange wood stick you can gently push the shellac off without damaging your nails.

If you wait ten minutes and have a different result it is possible you have a different product on your nails.

Skin Care (Audrey):

Facials can help skin look youthful and radiant

Tip: Protect your skin. Wear an SPF on your face daily. SPF can be found in foundations or moisturizers. Simply driving is enough sun exposure to cause damage and premature aging. UVA and UVB rays break down proteins that keep skin looking young and healthy.
