There has been a fair amount of talk recently about giving students more non traditional options for school. Sometimes that's because children have been sick, live in a remote area or for some, the school environment just does not help them thrive.  Like everything there is not one best answer.  But, it is nice to have options.

I was reading a interesting story about it in the Bangor Daily News.  As an adult learner I have been taking a lot of classes on line.  With all the technology we have have I can see how internet based learning could be a wonderful thing for some students. For those without accesses online schools or internet based information with quality programs could afford to package that info and send it to students to use.  As for the social aspect of going to school, there are ways to find and provide that interaction to kids without it being "in school." I for one think it's totally fascinating!
