Wardens from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife are seeking information about a vehicle which may have struck a moose, dragging the animal for over 2 miles.

The department shared a photo of the moose, which was dumped in a river, on its Facebook page. It said the animal seemed to have been struck in Coplin Plantation, just south of Eustis, and was dragged before being dumped off a bridge.

Wardens are seeking the vehicle, which is believed to be a pick up of large SUV, and say the vehicle will likely show damage to its front end. Anyone with information on this incident is being asked to call Augusta Public Safety Dispatch at 624-7076.
