Michael Clarke Duncan was laid to rest yesterday in Los Angeles and a number of his friends were on hand to share their memories of the larger-than-life actor including Jay Leno, Holly Robinson-Peete, Stevie Wonder and his 'Green Mile' co-star Tom Hanks. Below you can watch Hanks speak lovingly about his favorite Michael Clarke Duncan story, which had the audience laughing.

Instead of focusing on the sadness, Hanks shared a story Duncan told him on the set of 'The Green Mile' when, as a youth, Duncan tried getting into a gang. It's worth watching just to see Tom Hanks do his Michael Clarke Duncan impression.

'Green Mile' director Frank Darabont was also in attendance and read a letter from 'Green Mile' author Stephen King, which said, "No one has ever done a character I wrote more justice." Leno said, as his voice cracked, "Just to see such a pure heart and pure kindness, and to see it taken so early, there are no sadder words than what might have been."
