If you’ve been watching ‘The Bachelorette’ this season you know that eliminated contender Eric Hill died after having his time on the show. He was paragliding in Utah and died due to an accident unaffiliated with the ABC show. He did die while filming was still going on, which brings us to last night.

As a casual viewer because it’s on when I get home on Monday nights I’ll watch the show on occasion. Last night, Chris Harrison the host, brought everyone together to tell everyone on the show on camera that Eric Hill had died (the segment had been taped months ago). After the cast were told, Andi Dorfman, the Bachelorette, cried and the four men who were left to win Andi's heart were in shock, probably a bit sad and speechless.

It is true stuff happens and you can’t control other people’s destinies, but it seemed a bit icky to watch. Some may argue the whole concept and show is icky but it was just a little awkward. If that weren’t enough, after the somber moment and tears, the network went right to a bright and cheery ad for a cell phone company without transition.

ABC didn’t do a "fade to black" with a second or so before the stopset, there was no still photo with Eric Hill’s face including the two dates, birth to death.

After the commercial break, Andi and Chris Harrison are sitting there one-on-one talking about how it’s been a hard week learning about the passing of Hill with a bit of consoling, etc. Reading between the lines in the segment it was Harrison saying in the end, even though there was a death, the show must go on and go give out roses.

I don’t know, I'm probably making a bigger deal than is needed but if you watched, what did you think on last night’s episode of ‘The Bachelorette’? If you missed it or don't watch the show, below are the two segments of last night's 'The Bachelorette' referenced above.
