Before his political career, Ronald Reagan was a well-known actor. But besides the Gipper, there really hasn't been a president who was a traditional, entertainment-industry celebrity before ascending to the highest office in the land.

Parade Magazine recently polled 56,000 readers on what current celebrity they thought would be best to follow in Reagan's footsteps and make run for the presidency.

George Clooney got 36 percent of the vote, beating Oprah Winfrey (27 percent) for the top spot. Next was Matt Damon with 12 percent, then Elisabeth Hasselbeck (10 percent), Ben Affleck (9 percent) and Alec Baldwin (6 percent).
