In addition to businesses and residences, this week's wind storm also knocked out power to dozens of traffic lights.  As a driver, what are you supposed to do when you encounter one of these "dead" lights?  Here's the answer:

According to Drivers-ed.com , If the traffic lights are not working due to a power failure, you need to stop at each intersection and not proceed before you know other turning and approaching vehicles, bicycles, or pedestrians have stopped. A blacked-out traffic signal works the same as a four-way stop intersection.

Always drive with extra caution in nasty weather!
