Nothing is more nostalgic than a drive-in movie. We didn't get home until about 1am but had a great time as a family last night. Vikki did however miss out and stayed with Aunt Stacy and her Memere overnight which I'm sure she enjoyed as much if not even more. We went to Bridgton and saw 'Despicable Me 2' and 'Grown Ups 2' both very light and funny flicks and would recommend them if that's what you're looking for. We as a family aren't really first run movie goers. We normally wait until they are out on DVD, Redbox or Netflix. We don't go often probably mostly because of the price I guess but at a drive-in there is so much more for your admission. For $7.50 per person (and less for kids), you get two movies and a good sized parking space where if you want you can pull out lawn chairs and a cooler, etc.

I went last year for the first time to a drive-in. We only had one drive-in theater in town growing up and it was gone by the time we got to driving age so I never made it. The drive-in is great and fairly inexpensive family fun. I found the concession prices lower too at the drive-in and at the snack bar they sold hot food where many theaters if not all or nearly all don't.

Anyway, there is still a good chunk of summer still left, so it's a definite option for warm clear summer's night if you haven't been in a long time.
