Many traffic lights have modernized to have those sensors where the lights change sooner depending on the traffic. However, there sure does seem to be those traffic lights that just seem to stay red forever!

I've lived in Augusta for almost eleven years now and I will start our list with a couple of traffic lights in Augusta that just can be so aggravating.

The traffic light on Western Avenue that turns into the Augusta Plaza. That just happens to be where the radio station is. There has been times when trying to leave the Augusta Plaza has taken several minutes just waiting for that light to turn green.

The other traffic light is in downtown Augusta, the three-way intersection light at Water Street and Bridge Street. The traffic leaving downtown sure seems to take a long time for it to turn green. The traffic there in late afternoon can be very congested.

What other traffic lights around central Maine do you find to be among the longest?
