There was nothing like starting your morning with a bowl of your favorite cereal, I used to love Cap'n Crunch Berries. You would spend the time crunching away, reading the entire box and maybe, just maybe you got a little surprise toy, too. That has all changed.

According to the Washington Post, the sale of cereal is way down, almost 30% in the past 15 years. They site a growing interest in quick on-the run breakfasts, such as smoothies and protein bars. Even when cereal is the choice, more often than not, it's not long time sugary favorites like Froot Loops or Lucky Charms, but more of a healthy alternative.

How sad, that kid's today don't get the thrill of slurping down the chocolatey sugary leftover milk at the bottom of a bowl after woofing down a serving of Cocoa Puffs!
