You've probably heard about the heinous theft of thousands of dollars from the Winslow Wrestling Boosters. Well, now we can show our support and help out the program. Winslow Youth Wrestling is in the process of expanding the wrestling program in the central Maine area. The program currently includes children from Pre-K to 8th grade in Winslow, Oakland, Benton, Albion, Clinton, Skowhegan and China. As any program grows, so does the expense.

Due to the rising costs of insurance, the annual registration fees no longer cover the costs associated with the program. Without fundraising, the annual registration fee per child will need to be increased. The associated costs with wrestling for mat time, uniforms, travel for tournaments, and tournament registration fees quickly add up.

According to their gofundme page:

Our fundraising goal is to help the high school wrestling team buy new wrestling mats after the booster club had its funds stolen. (The Youth Program uses the mats for practices.) Any additional funds raised will be used to help sustain the program and eventually pay for/offset the registration costs for all youth wrestlers who are signed up under the Winslow Youth Wrestling Program, and to provide the youth wrestlers with a t-shirt and awards at the end of the year banquet.
