For most of us, last night into today was the first snowfall in Maine. Some may see it as pretty, and others may not, but either way, driving in it can be dicey. Countless accidents were reported today throughout the state, including the Interstates. We haven’t gotten our snow legs yet it seems.

Be careful as you drive. It’s hard to transition from bare pavement to snow slick streets and highways.

You can also do a few things to better prepare yourself for winter driving. Check or have your tires checked for tread, have an extra blanket, flashlight etc on you at all times. For auto advice beyond the obvious just ask the experts, Newcastle Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep.

Many towns have overnight winter parking bans regardless of weather conditions, Augusta’s has already begun, it started on November 15th. Waterville's overnight winter parking ban begins on December 1st and runs through April 30th.

For your town, just go to the municipal website, the information should be provided to you.
